Acceptable Use Policy

1. Prohibited Goods

You must not use the Service to create shipping labels for the following categories of goods. This list is not exhaustive; you must also comply with all applicable laws and the specific prohibited items lists of the carrier you select.

1.1 Absolutely Prohibited

• Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia
• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, and weapon accessories (including replicas and deactivated weapons unless carrier-approved)
• Explosives, fireworks, and pyrotechnic devices
• Counterfeit, pirated, or trademark-infringing goods
• Stolen property
• Human remains, organs, or bodily fluids
• Child exploitation material of any kind
• Currency, bearer instruments, or negotiable securities

1.2 Hazardous Materials

• Flammable liquids and solids (petrol, lighter fluid, aerosols with flammable propellants)
• Corrosive substances (strong acids, alkalis, battery fluid)
• Toxic and infectious substances
• Radioactive materials
• Oxidising agents and organic peroxides
• Compressed gases
• Lithium batteries shipped alone (batteries contained in or packed with equipment may be permitted by certain carriers with proper documentation)

Some hazardous materials may be shipped via specific carrier services with appropriate hazmat declarations and packaging. This requires prior arrangement and is not available through standard label generation. Contact us if you need to ship regulated hazardous goods.

1.3 Restricted Items

The following items are restricted and may require special handling, documentation, or carrier approval:

• Alcohol and tobacco products (subject to carrier and destination country regulations)
• Perishable goods and food items
• Live animals and plants
• Precious metals, gemstones, and jewellery above carrier-specified values
• Antiques and works of art
• Pharmaceutical products and medical devices
• Goods subject to export licensing

2. Restricted Destinations

You must not use the Service to ship to countries, territories, entities, or individuals subject to sanctions imposed by:

• OFSI (Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, HM Treasury)
• OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control, US Department of the Treasury)
• EU sanctions (Council of the European Union)
• UN Security Council

As of the date of this policy, comprehensively sanctioned destinations include but are not limited to: North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. Sanctions lists change frequently; it is your responsibility to verify compliance before shipping.

TradeWind may block label generation to certain destinations based on sanctions screening. If a shipment is blocked in error, please contact us with supporting documentation.

3. Account Conduct

You agree not to:

• Create multiple accounts for the same entity to circumvent limits, pricing, or suspensions
• Share account credentials with unauthorised individuals
• Impersonate another person or business when creating an account or generating labels
• Provide false or misleading sender or return address information
• Falsify customs declarations, parcel values, weights, or contents descriptions
• Use the Service for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other financial crime
• Provide false identification or business documentation during onboarding or verification

4. Platform Abuse

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ accounts or data
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or breach security measures
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service beyond our provided API
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Abuse the API rate limits or use the API in a manner that degrades the Service for other users
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service for purposes other than your own shipping operations
• Generate labels solely for the purpose of obtaining tracking numbers without intending to ship
• Abuse void/refund processes to manipulate billing

5. Data Misuse

You agree not to:

• Use recipient data obtained through the Service for marketing, spam, or any purpose other than fulfilment of the specific shipment
• Share, sell, or disclose other users’ or recipients’ personal data
• Upload malicious content, malware, or harmful files to the platform
• Store sensitive personal data (such as National Insurance numbers or medical records) in shipment notes or custom fields

6. Consequences of Violation

If we determine that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy, we may take one or more of the following actions at our sole discretion:

1. Warning — a written notice identifying the violation and requiring corrective action
2. Temporary suspension — restriction of label generation, API access, or other Service features for a defined period
3. Permanent termination — closure of your account with no right to re-register
4. Financial recovery — recovery of any losses, fines, or penalties we incur as a result of your violation
5. Reporting — reporting of illegal activity to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities (including HMRC, National Crime Agency, or OFSI)

Where possible, we will give notice before taking enforcement action, but we reserve the right to act immediately where there is a risk of harm, legal liability, or ongoing violation.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP by another user or suspect that the Service is being used for prohibited purposes, please report it to:

Please include as much detail as possible, including account identifiers, tracking numbers, and a description of the suspected violation. Reports may be made anonymously. We will investigate all reports promptly and in confidence.
