What "bulk parcel shipping" actually means

Bulk parcel shipping to the USA means printing many individual DDP labels in one pass — 100g jewellery, 2kg doormats, 5kg homeware boxes — each tracked door to door on the UPS network with its own commercial invoice. It is high-volume courier parcel shipping, not palletised freight or container loads. Search "bulk shipping to USA" and you mostly hit freight forwarders quoting pallets; if you post hundreds of individual ecommerce orders, that's the wrong tool.

TradeWind is built for the parcel case. Connect your store, and a day's orders import in one go, matched to your product catalog. Automation rules assign services by weight, value, country and SKU; the US import duty is calculated per HS code and pre-paid at checkout, and the whole batch prints as ZPL or PDF. Labels start at £12.80 each with duty on top — no monthly fee, no minimum volume, and bespoke rates once you're shipping serious numbers.

A day of orders to a stack of labels in minutes

The customs maths runs in the background. You import, validate and print.

1

Import a day of orders

Sync from ShipStation or WooCommerce, or upload a CSV. Each order matches your product catalog so HS codes and values are already attached.

2

Let the rules assign services

Automation rules pick the service by weight, value, country and SKU, and the duty is worked out per HS code from live USITC data — shown before you pay.

3

Print the whole batch

Validate server-side, then print hundreds of labels as ZPL or PDF with commercial invoices and CN22/CN23 generated for every parcel.

The rate card

Per-label pricing that scales down

The public UPS Worldwide Economy DDP card, UK → USA. Ship serious volume and your bespoke business rate sits below every line.

Weight UPS Worldwide Economy DDP (TradeWind) Royal Mail PDDP
Up to 1kg £12.80 £19
1–2kg £15.50 £24
2–5kg £27 — (over 2kg cap)
5–10kg £41 — (over 2kg cap)
10–20kg £71 — (over 2kg cap)
20–30kg £101 — (over 2kg cap)

Label prices. US import duty is calculated from your HS code and declared value and added — pre-paid — at checkout, so your buyer pays nothing on delivery. Live quotes show the full landed figure before you pay.

No monthly fee, no minimum volume

A TradeWind house-rate account costs nothing per month. There's no subscription, no minimum volume and no contract — you pay per label at £12.80 plus per-HS-code duty, and nothing in a quiet week. Bulk-shipping rivals often charge £20–£150 a month before you print a label, plus £2–£3 per-label admin fees on top; that fixed cost quietly erodes your margin. We don't charge either.

Ship real volume and we cut a bespoke rate for your lane that sits below the public card — send us your parcel mix (average weight, dimensional weight, declared value, monthly volume) and we'll quote it directly. If you already hold your own negotiated UPS contract, the optional BYOA plan is a flat £29/month with no per-label markup. Compare both routes on the pricing page, or read how the wider setup works for businesses on the B2B USA shipping page.

DDP on every parcel — your buyer pays nothing

Every parcel ships DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): you pre-pay the US import duty at checkout so your customer receives their order with nothing left to pay — no courier phone call, no held package, no doorstep customs bill. TradeWind calculates the duty per HS code from live USITC tariff data, shows it before you commit, and pre-pays it to UPS so the quote is the final cost. At bulk volume that consistency matters — one wrong duty guess repeated across 500 parcels is 500 refused deliveries.

The rules changed on 29 August 2025 when the US $800 de-minimis exemption ended (Executive Order 14324), with an origin-based US tariff surcharge now on top (10% for UK-made goods — the July 2026 successor to the expired Section 122 baseline). Every commercial parcel attracts duty regardless of value, so getting customs right at scale is no longer optional. Every parcel travels on UPS Worldwide Economy DDP, up to 30kg, 4–7 working days to the 48 contiguous states plus DC.

Bulk shipping questions.

How do I ship in bulk to the USA?

Connect your store (or upload a CSV), let TradeWind match each order to your product catalog, set automation rules by weight, value, country and SKU, then print the whole batch as ZPL or PDF in one pass. Every parcel is quoted on UPS Worldwide Economy DDP with the US import duty calculated per HS code and pre-paid at checkout. A day of orders takes minutes, not an afternoon of retyping customs data.

Is this freight or parcel shipping?

Parcel. TradeWind books individual courier parcels on the UPS network — up to 30kg each, tracked door to door, one commercial invoice per parcel. It is not palletised freight, LCL/FCL sea freight or air cargo. If you are moving whole pallets or containers, a freight forwarder is the right tool. If you post hundreds of individual ecommerce orders, this is built for you.

Are there volume discounts for bulk parcel shipping?

Yes. The public rate starts at £12.80 per label, and if you ship serious volume — roughly 200+ parcels a month — we cut a bespoke rate for your lane that sits below the public card. Rates depend on your parcel mix: average weight, dimensional weight, declared value and monthly volume. Send us your numbers and we'll quote your lane directly.

Who pays the US import duty?

You pre-pay it at checkout, so your US buyer pays nothing at the door. Every parcel ships DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): the duty is calculated per HS code from live USITC tariff data, shown before you commit and paid to UPS with the label. Since the $800 de-minimis exemption ended on 29 August 2025, every commercial parcel attracts duty — DDP is what keeps it off your customer's doorstep as a surprise bill.

Is there a monthly fee for shipping in bulk?

No. TradeWind's house-rate account is free — no monthly fee, no subscription, no minimum volume — you pay per label and nothing when you're not shipping. If you already hold your own negotiated UPS contract, the optional BYOA plan is a flat £29/month with no per-label markup on top. That's the only paid tier, and it's optional.

How many labels can I print at once?

Batches of hundreds. Import a day of orders, validate them all server-side (address, customs data and prohibited-goods screening run before any label is bought), and print the batch as ZPL for a thermal printer or PDF for a desk printer. Commercial invoices and CN22/CN23 customs data are generated automatically for every parcel.

How long do parcels take to reach the USA?

Typically 4–7 working days to the 48 contiguous states plus DC on UPS Worldwide Economy DDP, with full tracking door to door. Drop parcels at any of the 5,000+ UPS Access Points across the UK, or arrange a collection once you are shipping at volume.

Which platforms can I connect for bulk orders?

ShipStation and WooCommerce are live today; Shopify, Etsy, eBay and BigCommerce are working through their respective OAuth approval flows and switch on as each clears. Until then you can still bulk-ship by uploading a CSV or pasting an order list, so nothing blocks you from printing in volume now.
