Press & media

A short, honest page. TradeWind is early — we've only been live to non-founder UK sellers since early 2026. As coverage lands we'll keep this updated.

Press kit

If you're writing about us, the short version: TradeWind is a UK-built multi-carrier shipping platform that resells UPS Worldwide Economy DDP (alongside Royal Mail, Parcelforce, FedEx, DHL, and Evri) at PAYG pricing to UK sellers shipping to the USA. Founded by Oliver Gibson in 2024 after the August 2025 Executive Order 14324 ended the US $800 de minimis exemption and made DDP shipping mandatory for UK→US ecommerce. Oliver runs three UK Etsy Star Seller shops with 80,000+ verified reviews and built TradeWind to fix his own US shipping costs first.

Quick facts

  • Founded: 2024
  • Headquarters: Bristol, UK (registered office: 16752709 at Companies House)
  • Founder: Oliver Gibson (Founder & CEO). Supported by a small back-office team — Simon Gibson (customs & carriers) and Charlotte Whitcombe (operations).
  • Co-owned brands: Customat, Quill & Tavern, 2DayGiftsCo — these ship through the same platform every day; ~90% of TradeWind's parcel volume comes from them.
  • Carriers integrated: UPS, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, FedEx, DHL, Evri (6 total).
  • Lifetime parcels shipped via TradeWind: 50,000+ (as of May 2026).
  • Lane focus: UK → USA Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). We don't do UK domestic or non-US international as a focus area.
  • Registrations: EORI Registered, VAT Registered, UPS Authorised Reseller, HMRC CDS Compliant, Royal Mail OBA holder.

What we're happy to talk about

  • Executive Order 14324 and the practical effect on UK ecommerce sellers.
  • The end of $800 de minimis, the 28 February 2026 cliff edge for postal carriers, and the reciprocal-tariff regime.
  • How UPS Worldwide Economy DDP works compared to Royal Mail International PDDP / DHL Express.
  • The dogfooding story — running our own UK ecommerce brands through the same platform we sell.
  • The economics of UK→US ecommerce in 2026 — duty, fuel surcharges, returns, refused parcels.

Coverage

We're still early — this section is honest about that. As we land coverage (podcasts, news, trade press), we'll list it here with permanent links. If you're a journalist or podcaster writing about UK→US ecommerce post-de-minimis and want a quotable expert source, email press@tradewind.express — Oliver is the primary voice and is happy to do interviews.
